Helping Survivors of Sexual Violence Find Hope, Healing & Happiness.

Empowered for Life!

"Empowered for LIFE!" is a nationwide initiative developed to support and empower survivors of childhood sexual violence while at the same time providing public awareness and education on this important issue. The programming will take place in Owen Sound, Port Elgin and the Ottawa area as part of  the Canadian National Victims of Crime Awareness Week, April 19 - 25, 2015.

As many as 1 in 3 children will be sexually abused or assaulted before their 18th birthday.  Many of these children will go on to suffer long term emotional effects their entire lives.  This is unacceptable.  We believe that the time to stand up for survivors of sexual violence is now and have developed resources and programs that will provide education, outreach and support to anyone who has been victimized by sexual crimes.

With the generous financial support of the Government of Canada, Department of Justice, "Empowered for Life!" is a collaborative initiative of and  Our main objective is to reach out to survivors and empower them to seek help, healing and happiness in their lives and together, we aim to create awareness on the topic of sexual abuse and assault in Canada.

During National Victims Awareness week, we will be presenting a variety of programs in various locations throughout the Province of Ontario. Tools and resources will be available to interested individuals and organizations anywhere in North America and beyond. As part of the week, we will be hosting a "Road to Healing" open house showcasing a variety of charities and non-profits committed to helping those in need of healing.  We will also be providing educational workshops for teachers, counsellors, mental health workers, law enforcement and health care professionals throughout this week providing them with necessary insight and tools useful when working with sexual violence survivors.  Full details regarding our programming will be available soon so please check back often to find out more about this important event.
